The Balinese were always devoted to their religious tradition, however the bombing in Kuta in 2001 really devastated them. Sadly, they felt they had failed in their oblations. To see these sweet and pacive people (Hindu) taking that karma upon themselves just broke my heart, and they are still suffering from a devastated tourism economy, the island's main source of livelihood. But somehow, they remain happy.
